Only Aston Martin dealerships will be able to authorise the timepiece to communicate with the owner’s specific DBS, thus ensuring security at all times.
The antenna is metallised on the inside of the sapphire crystal, and is connected to the locking control contact rectangles. The automotive functionalities are facilitated by touch-sensitive technology. Each part of the transponder has been miniaturised.
Making contacts with the two control rectangles activates three automotive functionalities. OPEN and CLOSE control the access to DBS doors, while pressing on both results in flashing the headlights to enable the owner to find the car at a glance (FIND ME).
These features make the watch one of the most expensive car keys ever at $34,000 USD.
