It is a widely known fact that the rich Shaikhs of the Middle East love their bling. So when Nissan decided to introduce a gold plated GT-R there were no surprises when it was to be launched only for the middle east. Called as the 2012 Nissan GT-R VVIP edition , the car shall be sold only in the Gulf countries as well as the United Arab Emirates.
Those who are willing to shell out the $266,000 for the VVIP edition will have a treat for their ears thanks to the Bose sound system that has been tuned specifically to the driving position in each car. Also present are the 24 karat gold plated side panels (along with a grill and VVIP badges) which justify the six figure price tag. However its not just the gold, the GT-R VVIP edition does put up a strong fight as a buy for those who love to drive with carbon ceramic brakes and a titanium muffler. The latter two however are optional extras for another $40,000.
For us, the GT-R underlying the bling itself is enough. After all how much more convincing does one need for a vehicle that has 550 bhp and a 0-100 kmph sprint in a mere 2.8 seconds.
