The most expensive Apple in the world is not the iphone, ipad, iwatch , but the FRUIT!
You might not think of fruit when it comes to dreaming up fancy food, but it turns out there are some extravagant fruits out there.
Have you ever wondered how much the most expensive apple in the world is? It costs a whopping $114000, and a lady is going to be the proud owner.
Grows in the orchard of Krasimir Kumchev in the village of Trilistnik in Plovdiv, this special fruit is now ripe to be eaten. The unique apple is grown in 700 acres of land for consumption as well as for boutique gifts.
The idea of the “golden apple” came from the legend of Aphrodite.
Let me give you a little background to the mythology.
When Eris, goddess of strife, wasn’t invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, the spiteful goddess tosses a golden apple into the crowd, with the words “to the fairest” written on it. This caused a big argument among Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite over who is the most beautiful goddess.
“It is known from mythology that when the apple was thrown, the three goddesses Athena, Hera and Aphrodite began fighting for her because each of them thought she was the best, eventually she was in the hands of Aphrodite. at the moment, this apple is actually destined for the earthly Aphrodite, and it will get it after 15 September if her Paris appears and orders it, “says Krasimir Kumchev.
What’s also unique about these apples is that the fruit is covered with special stickers while it ripens on the tree. It is then painted by the sun through certain technology. Post which the fruit is inscribed in gold letters that says: ” For the best! “.
What makes the fruit all the more expensive is that it comes in a distinctive golden stand that resembles a Faberge egg (a jewelled egg).
“It will be made of one kilogram and a half of pure gold. Unique jewellery, completely resembling Faberge, a unique development of masters from Bulgaria, 18 carat gold and actually the value of gold itself is about $760000, “explains Kumchev.
According to the farmer, such an apple has never been produced. The blessed lady to have the ‘golden apple’ is compared with the goddess Aphrodite, as she’ll be the only one to taste it.
The golden apple tastes sweet and sour. It is acclaimed to be an organic produce, devoid of any use of fertilisers or chemicals.
The golden apple is due to ripen in September. And the fortunate lady can’t wait to have it. That’s the power of money, I say!
