Formula 1 has a lot of cool merchandise. You wouldn’t expect a perfume to be among their list of goodies on offer, but it does exist. This is their first ever perfume in a beautiful 3D printed metal bottle, and is designed by Ross Lovegrove. The visionary Welsh designer has created these bottles inspired by nature and its evolutionary process, and embracing advances in digital technologies to approach design in an environmental way.
The collection consists of 3 different bottles, which were debuted at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November this year. Rather than predictably releasing a car-shaped perfume bottle, F1 used this unique design concept to place the perfume in.
The bottles are made of technopolymeric resin-based exoskeleton, which holds the scent of the perfume very dearly.
The three bottles are named Agile Embrace, Fluid Symmetry, and Compact Skeleton. Each of them took between 15 to 36 hours to be printed.
Inspired by the dynamic style of F1, the bottles are set to be priced at $10,000 each. Only 20 will be made. If you didn’t already get a chance to buy them at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, worry not. You can still get these scents once they’re released in 2020, although it will be limited to just 100 bottles.
