If you have really deep pockets, and have a liking for SUVs. And are looking for something exclusive too, then your quest should end at the Karlmann King, the world’s most expensive SUV ever!
Priced ludicrously high at $1.9 million, it has been designed by a Chinese company called IAT and built by a European team which comprises of over 1,800 people.
Their website describes the King as “Exceptional, treasure in collection. Diamond cuttings, inspiration from falcon. Exclusive customization, every Karlmann is the unique one in the world. Karlmann, produced by a world top-level custom vehicle manufacturer from Europe, aiming to provide an exquisite collection to the world.”
The Karlmann King isn’t just big, blocky car; it’s sophisticated vehicle which make a good first impression. And we all know that first impressions count.
The company says that it will build precisely 12 units of the Karlmann King but we do not know if all the models have already been booked or sold. It was first displayed at the Dubai International Motor Show in 2017. Very recently in February 2019 it was a part of LA Auto show.
Take a look at the video of the King
The SUV is built on a Ford F-550 platform and weighs 10,580 pounds and can travel up to 87 mph. The F-550 is a massive truck frame chosen for its proven durability and ability to handle weight of an armoured luxury vehicle.
As far as features go, the King gets Hi-Fi sound, ultra HD 4K television set, private safebox, phone projection system and optional satellite TV along with optional satellite phone. Whoa! That’s some luxury right there. Plus you have additional features such as a coffee machine, electric table, independent AC at the front and rear, indoor neon light control and so on.
All the comfort features can be controlled by a smartphone app. The wheelbase of the car is a massive 3691 mm, which means there is more than enough room for a tea party inside. The edgy exterior has been built in carbon-fibre and steel.
In case you’d like to get the interior to your taste, who is stopping you from that! Alligator-skin seats, real gold trim and specialty upholstery are all available for a price. Michael Nothdurft, Karlman’s sales director, says a client in Africa ordered a Karlman King with a $3.5 million price tag.
The King is currently hand-made in Italy but the company is endeavouring to get a manufacturing line built in the U.S.
For those who are thinking to buy the car, plan well in advance as it takes nine to fifteen months to be delivered.
At that price, there are only a handful of people who could afford the Karlmann King. Are you one of them? If yes, get in touch with IAT now.
