Andy Warhol is certainly the flavor of the year. He would easily be the most written about artist on The Rich Times and with good reason. All of his works are breaking records and selling for large figures. The Mao collection was created by Andy when he was inspired by Mao Zedong and considered him his muse.
The Mao collection consists of 10 images. The collection was previously sold in 1970s (directly by Warhol) and has been in a private collection since then. The prints which were created in 1972 were recently auctioned for a staggering sum of $938,500 at an auction organized by the international art company Phillips de Pury & Company.
