Once you are a celebrity, you have to face competition in almost all phases of life, from your income to your babies. We previously reported about how Mrs. Beckham spent a good $300,000 for her fourth child that she is expecting. Giving tough competition to Posh in this sphere is pop singer, Mariah Carey. The songstress who has long-waited for her baby dreams to come true ; and now that they are with her twins, she is leaving no stones unturned.
The star has reportedly spent $1.3m on the nursery for her twins. Not that we are jealous, but we feel, as we learnt the details, that it’s a bit too much and impractical. The nursery is fit for royal babies. These kids wont just be born with the proverbial golden spoon in their mouths, but these babes will have handed to them diamond encrusted iPods upon birth.
The 40-year-old, married to Nick Cannon, 30, wants nothing but the best for her babies, who are due at the end of March.
‘Mariah and Nick have converted a whole wing of their Beverly Hills house into a luxury nursery, including 18-carat gold trim, ivory walls, “soft furnishings” and walk-in wardrobes full of designer clothes.
The twins will sleep in Chelsea Sleigh cribs that cost more than $2,200 a piece and their diapers will be changed on a changing table by Clara that costs more than $2,800. For a reason that can be given only by the diva herself, the nursery also will include a “top-of-the-range sound system … diamond-encrusted iPods and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.”
Other interiors include: $1m red-crushed velvet, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa and much more.
‘Mariah and her designer Kenneth Bordewick are overseeing every detail,’
says an insider.
Seriously, how many of you think diamond encrusted iPods are necessary for new-born babies. The twins, even before they are in this world, can be claimed to be the most spoilt kids.
