Would you ever buy a car key that costs $11,000? Formula One legend Mika Salo, in collaboration with Awain car keymakers, have come up with an exclusive car key. And no, it isn’t your regular functional car key.
Each piece takes about 50 hours to make. Customers can personalise their Mika Salo key with an actual F1 engine part. That means you’ll actually be linked to the F1 World with just the key to your car.
There are three different versions of the key available, and only 20 pieces of each will be made. You can see the luxury collection if you happen to swing by Awain’s showroom in Dubai.
Awain says they are the best car keymakers in the world. They said these keys were made with the highest of technology and engineering standards. Last year, Awain had created a unique car key called the Phantom, which was inlaid with 34.5 carat diamonds, set in 175 grams of gold.
Salo says, “When I saw my first Awain key I immediately realised that this is what the key of a true supercar should have always looked like. The amount of craftsmanship and eye for detail in each custom-crafted Awain key is simply amazing. And of course, it’s an honour to now have a collection that commemorates the highlights of my own racing career.”
Salo says that your key should match your vehicle. Sure enough, if you have the money to spend on a stunning pair of wheels, why not splurge a little more and get a key that’s as much of a special machine?
