After honoring Bruce Lee, Montegrappa goes on to pay homage to the legendary Muhammad Ali. The Italian writing instruments manufacturer announced a companion luxury pen set to the acclaimed “Icons” writing instruments giving a tribute to ‘The Greatest’. Commemorating the 35th Anniversary of one of his greatest fights, “A Thrilla in Manila,” the new set has been authorized by both Muhammad Ali Enterprises and Joe Frazier.
Only 35 sets will be available, making it a rare collectible. The gold version of the pens feature an autographed framed picture showing Ali, Frazier and Padilla along with a special plexiglass display into which the pens can be placed. And the silver version will be offered in a limited number of 350 packed in lavish boxes featuring a three-dimensional boxing glove forming the lid. Inside is a pad on which the Ali and the Frazier pens will rest.
The legend had once stated, ““I’ll tell you how I’d like to be remembered: as a black man who won the heavyweight title, who was humorous and treated everyone right, as a man who never looked down on those who looked up to him, a man who stood for freedom, justice, and equality, and I wouldn’t even mind if folks forgot how pretty I was.”
