Its a Math sum that no one would be able to get right, but that’s the genius of this artist. When you combine Andy Warhol with pictures of the popular first lady Jacqueline O Kennedy, what you get is a record price estimate of $30 million.
The picture in question was painted in 1964, when Andy was at his peak. This time his subject was Jackie Kennedy. The image captures the important events of Jackie’s life from her arrival at Dallas’ Love Field, through the motorcade, to the administration of the oath for the new President Johnson and finally to the funeral in Washington, D. C.
The piece is expected to reach up to $30million when it comes to auction in New York on May 10. Amongst other prints of Warhol that have recently been breaking records, we have the Mao prints and the First Self Portrait.
