Its L.U.C. collection honours the founder by using his initials to name the brand. The collection includes the high end luxury timepieces known to be the most refined, complex and exclusive watches the company produces. These watches have consistently been awarded and acknowledged timepieces across the globe.
What is ethically mined gold?
Chopard is the pioneer in using 100% ethical gold in the creation of its fine jewellery since 2018. This implies that the brand is committed to using only ethically sourced gold which has created a quiver in the industry.
Unethical gold refers to gold that is sourced from mines whose workers are subject to inhumane and dangerous working conditions. It can also refer to gold whose origins are unknown, and, since it cannot definitively be classified as ethical, it ends up falling under the category of unethical.
For us, the consumers, it implies better quality product which can be recycled making it environment friendly. In fact, there are several brands producing watches using natural resources like wood, recycled metals and vegetable tanned leather.
But using ethically mined gold is one of a kind adopted by Chopard.
Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin
The Flying T Twin contains the first flying tourbillon that the brand has put into a watch. In fact, it is the first tourbillon timepiece with an automatic movement too. Many newcomers to the brand must be wondering what the “Twin” in the name means. Well, it signifies the movement’s patented Twin Technology, in which two stacked mainspring barrels store 65-hour power reserve for the watch.
With the new L.U.C Flying T Twin, Chopard is unveiling its first caliber equipped with a flying tourbillon. This technically and aesthetically sophisticated timepiece is distinguished by its remarkable charisma: a hand-guilloché gold dial, impeccable proportions and an ultra-thin case in ethically certified “Fairmined” rose gold make it a truly exceptional creation within the L.U.C collection. This extremely refined 50-piece limited series designed for contemporary gentlemen connoisseurs of Fine Watchmaking is certified by the “Poinçon de Genève” quality hallmark – according to their website –
The case, dial and buckle of the timepiece is made of 18k rose gold with the strap of black alligator vegetal tanning. With a self-winding mechanical movement, it has an oscillating weight of 22k gold. The watch is water resistant upto 30 meters deep, it has see-through sapphire crystal case back.
