Swarovski has put in some real hard work to create the 2011 Star that goes on top of the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Its become an annual tradition for Swarovski to be able to decorate the pinnacle of the tree and this time around actress Olivia Wilde unveiled the star to the people.
The star is made of 25,000 crystals which mean a total of 1,000,000 facets. To get an inkling of how large this star really is ; think 9 ½ feet in diameter and is 1 ½ feet deep. A total of 720 LED bulbs using 3,000 feet of wire do duty to brighten up the upcoming Christmas.
