If you are planning to gift yourself a luxurious, big yacht this summer global online luxury marketplace JamesList is offering the 289-ft. Maltese Falcon for a cool 99 million Euros (US $138 million).
The brainchild of Italian Perini Navi Yachts on the special demand of American millionaire Tom Perkins in 2006, the Maltese Falcon is perhaps the largest and fastest personal sailboat in the world. The unique contemporary interior is designed by Ken Freivokh. The yacht has won many prizes for her innovative DynaRig sail design which allows the masts to rotate depending on wind direction and also helps in speeding thing up. No wonder, the yacht has a history of crossing the Atlantic in 10 days flat.
A fiber-optic sensor system keeps track of the wind speed and force to maintain a strong and consistent sailing. The interior is equally luxurious with five gorgeous staterooms that can entertain 12 guests. The open main deck has a main saloon, a cockpit, a nice dining area and two separate studio areas. The owner’s cabin is on the upper deck and features a private cockpit, a protected sunbathing area and direct access to the magnificent wheelhouse. The master suite on the lower deck has a bedroom, sitting area and two bathrooms, one with a huge shower and the other with a Jacuzzi tub. The main saloon and the master suite are equipped with a 50-inch plasma TV. All the four guest suites feature 42-inch plasma screens. There is a full beam Master with King berth, a separate full beam dressing room and private gym on the lower deck. Considering the fact that the yacht cost $100 million to build, the asking price of $138 million seems really logical.
