We’ve all heard of Snapchat Spectacles, and they’re really cool. Snap has now collaborated to create similar specs with the Gucci logo printed all over the frames. The partnership happened at the Art Basel festival in Miami Beach.
These sunglasses are made for the promotion of a short film called Spring Breakers. They were the idea of director, Harmony Korine, who used Spectacles and Snapchat’s augmented reality effects to create a work of ‘wearable cinema.’
Only 50 of these are going to be made, and unfortunately, you cannot buy them. But Snapchat said they might be making them available in the future, so keep a look out.
This ‘Duck Duck’ video is an experimental short film, which shows off the features of the Spectacles 3 in Miami, with features like augmented reality and 3D filters.
If you really like the idea of these smart glasses, you can get Snapchat’s regular Specs, for $380. They recently released a new version last month, which has new features. The camera can capture depth data and integrate with the augmented reality feature. And of course, if you hadn’t guessed already, these glasses also have Snapchat filters.
