You call it a Ferrari Furnace when about 15 super cars are burnt to a crispy cinder in a fire. A blaze in an underground car park in Paris resulted in damage of nearly 4 million pounds given that the garage was of the Ritz Hotel.
The garage which has 1600 spaces includes lots of luxury sports cars such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis parked on any given day. The hotel is located in Place Vendome (which also houses the French Ministry of Justice). The fire had to be fought by around a 100 firemen and also necessitated the evacuation of the ministry.
About 15 luxury cars were completely destroyed while 40 others were damaged. The fire broke out on the second level of the five-level car park under Place Vendome. Apparently, the fire began when a Ferrari collided with a scooter and caught fire.
With the damage bill hovering around 4 million pounds ($6.27 million) ; this accidental fire beats the $4 million car crash which was supposedly the most expensive so far.
