Michal Eshel, a well-known Jewish jewellery artist announced the launch of her newest piece in April 2019, “The Blessing Coin.” This detailed, oversized memorial coin depicts the God-Israel-USA connection and is being released in the USA in time for summer holidays.
Michal Eshel is an award-winning jewellery artist who has been featured in Israeli magazines over the last years. Her jewellery is hand-crafted in Israel and most pieces symbolize the strength and unity of God’s Holy Land and His people. Her unique creations are sold around Israel, the USA and the globe.
“I really wanted to create something symbolic. Something that shows the connection between God and His people. A lot of my customers come from America, and this coin shows the deep connection between our two countries,” Michal said. “I love that is ready in time for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for anyone interested in something with a deep symbolic meaning.”
The Blessing coin portrays several unifying symbols: Capitol Hill and the Temple; the Pomegranate; Olive Branches; the Tree of Life; JerUSAlem with USA capitalized in the centre of the spelling; the cross and the Star of David.
Michal together with her husband worked to make this coin as a mark of unique connections between Israel and the USA. Omar Eshel, her husband, is an Israeli historian and former counsel for Travel and Tourism to the United States. His insights helped Michal bring out the unique connections between countries in the “blessing coin.”
“There is no doubt that the two countries are bound together,” Omer said. “Both share the same moral code and serve the same God. In many ways, we are connected like no other countries in the world.”
There are many scriptures in the Bible, according to Michal, which indicates the Christian population has been “grafted into” the nation of Israel. As the USA is the most ardent and strongest supporter of Israel, the scripture in Genesis 12:3 which reads “I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed,” seems to have a special meaning to America. This has been repeated over and over by pastors and ministers for decades, both as a warning to nations who try to destroy the Israeli people and as a promise to the nations that support Israel.
The Judeo-Christian values are of both countries are similar stemming from their belief of Biblical scriptures in the Old and New Testaments. The symbolism on this coin pictures this unity, according to Eshels.
The coin is 2” in diameter and is available in three variations: plated silver, burnished silver or 14 karat gold plated. It comes with a rolled scroll that details each of the symbols on the coin and the meaning of them. The coin comes in a unique stand and a pouch.
