Leica is a camera maker and Hodinkee is a watchmaker. They aren’t exactly the ideal pair, but the two have just collaborated to create a special edition camera that pays homage to a vintage Hodinkee watch. Ben Clymer, the CEO of Hodinkee said, “The M10-P Ghost Edition for Hodinkee is the result of a decades-long fascination with how timeless objects age, and almost evolve with time.”
The camera comes with a grey rope strap, which is 126cm long. It has a Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH lens. Leica says the lens eliminates the distortion and vignetting associated with fast lenses and that the lens hood helps cut down on reflections and unwanted light. It can also be used with the Leica SL and SL2 cameras using the M-Adapter L.
As for the body, it is made of cow hide, with silver-grey shade. One striking thing missing is the signature Leica red dot. The top and bottom plates are coated in a matte gray paint, and the engravings are filled in with white.
Only 250 models will be sold worldwide, with a serial number engraved on each of the cameras. The set is priced at $14,995, and can be found here.
