Guitar players think their guitar is the most precious one in the world. But they’re wrong. There’s a $2 million Gibson SG guitar, with 11,441 diamonds, called ‘Eden of Coronet’. It’s verified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive guitar in the world. This is definitely not one guitar anyone should try playing. This precious instrument will be on display at the Jewellery and Watch Show, from October 26-30 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
If you’re wondering who could have made such a piece, it was created by Mark Lui. A songwriter himself, he put a lot of effort into this masterpiece. It was made over a period of 700 days, and took as many as 68 artisans to create. The 11,441 diamonds are all over 400 carats set in 1.6 kilograms of white gold.
“We try to display striking items at JWS each year and the world’s most valuable guitar does just that. Visitors can enjoy the guitar not only for its extravagance but also be in awe of its functional use for musicians,” Mohamad Meheiddine, the JWS Event Manager said.
This is not the guitar’s first debut in public. In 2015, it was put on show at the Marina Mall in Dubai.
Gibson had also come up with a diamond encrusted guitar which was also extremely dear, at $175,000, which also tried to be the most expensive. The battle for most expensive guitar in the world is an old one, and many have been fighting for that title. As long as the world loves music, this battle will be going on for a while. But we’re guessing as far as the title for most expensive guitar goes, Eden of Coronet has the crown safely in its hands. For now.
