Most of us in the cattle class (or Economy class, if you prefer the politically correct form) in a flight would be happy with a few more inches of legroom. Not so in the first class. Apparently, they even get disturbed by the tone in which the air crew asks them for their drink. This means that the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Suite flight crew is now being trained in using the proper decibel level to speak with. The ideal tone is supposed to be between 20 to 30 decibels – just enough to be coherent without disturbing other passengers.
The fully trained whispering staff is Sir Richard Branson’s way of ensuring that passengers get one of the most comfortable flights possible with Virgin Atlantic. Along with amenities such as a chauffeur service to and from the airport, private security checks, and access to ‘The Clubhouse’ ; we are pretty much sold on the service.
The aircraft itself will have leather armchairs, full length beds, double sleeper options and a variety of freshly prepared meals as well as a full on-board bar. Once you arrive at your destination you would have the option of using a revival lounge complete with a hot shower to be ready for your airport pickup.
For about $10,000 for a flight form London to New York , the whispering flight attendants might just have a USP that Sir Branson has captured.
