His homeland devastated by the recent Earthquake, Tsunami and the resultant Nuclear aftermath , Yoshiki has put his custom made piano up for auction in order to help raise funds for Japan. Yoshiki – whose name few of us outside of Japan may have heard is one of the biggest and most popular heavy metal rock stars. The star lives in Los Angeles and is heading the the Japan Relief Fundraising Auction with help from Yahoo Japan.
When we last checked, just prior to publishing this article – the bids (893 bids so far) had already brought the price to $2.6 million with another 5 days to go before the auction ends. The crystal piano is one of the most famous ones in rock history being the only one to have the Yoshiki name on it. Its a personal item of the star, also his favorite since he has brought it along with him on all his tours.
Want to do some good while also getting a piece of history? Head on to J-Grab and put up your bids. We plan to keep you posted on the final price of this piano , as a charity auction this is easily one of the largest ever in history.
The Piano has finally sold for $130,000 and the money will be used to aid Japan. The piano auction got an amazing response of 1,454 bids. Props to NBC.
