It is a great feeling to pull out your card and pay for everyone at the table. But plastic and metal cards are so outdated. Insignia has come up with a new card, which could qualify as jewellery. It is encrusted with diamonds and pearls, and has a design of a dragon on it. The annual fee for this card is $10,000. And you can’t get it unless Insignia invites you themselves.
Insignia is a global luxury lifestyle group based in London. They have only 800 clients in Europe, and barely 50 in the USA. Around 20-25% of their clients are billionaires.
This particular card takes $200,000 to create. Highly skilled artisans have made this card, which is inlaid with diamonds and pearls. The card was designed by jewellery designer Clarissa Bronfman, and was part of Insignia’s Jewellery Card Collection. Those selected to own the card can meet with the designer and customize the design with family crests, image of a pet, or whatever else they may wish.
Insignia has created such jewelled cards for clients across the USA, Europe, and Middle East, who charge more than $1 million on the card, mostly for travel. So bespoke is their service that owners of the card get a 24/7 personal assistant with the card. These assistants know extremely personal details about their clients, so they can inform their hotels on their preferred side of the bed, choice of toiletries, and so on.
Don’t we all wish we had such a personalized card experience? Alas, only few of us are lucky, and loaded enough to be selected.
